Chinese New Year

Welcome to 2021, the Year of the Yin Metal Ox. The second sign of the Chinese zodiac, this slow but steady Ox arrived February 12, 2021 and stays through January 31, 2022. The quieter, grounded energy of the Ox will be a welcome relief from the fast, active and disruptive pace of the Rat.

In Chinese culture, the Ox symbolizes the attainment of prosperity through fortitude and diligence. Those born in the Year of the Ox are systematic in their approach to life. Their sheer tenacity and determination bring them success.

The Ox denotes the hard work, positivity and honesty that will be manifested in all of us in the coming 12 months.

Metal remains the Chinese Element in this Ox year. In the Chinese Five Element Theory, Metal represents the harvest. It reflects a gathering of soul and spirit. The human characteristics are ethical, methodical, and disciplined. The function of the Metal Element is to provide a healthy discernment of what is essential, what to take in and what to let go. In the Feng Shui Bagua, the Metal Element is located in the Children and Creativity.

This year of the Metal Ox will be a time for emotional, spiritual, and economic, rebuilding.
